Internal funding sources should be your first stop, especially if you’re new to fundraising or you need only a small amount.

• You can find internal opportunities on the Office of Research Support’s RFP database. Click on “Advanced Search” and enter “Duke” in “Funding Agency Name.” Note that Duke has many internal opportunities, so you may want to refine by discipline as well.

• The Trent Fund is an internal fund supporting work in a few areas. See our page on Trent for details.
• In addition to the above, many departments, centers, and schools have small amounts to disperse. Ask your colleagues and academic leaders what funds you might be eligible for.
